At a glance
  • The Rosé Zone begins roughly 165 metres below the underground ramp currently being advanced at Perron.
  • Highlighted assays include 8.02 g/t gold over 4.30 metres and 11.78 g/t gold over 1.80 metres, with higher-grade sub-intervals.
  • Amex says the zone has been traced over about 275 metres vertically and 70 metres of strike and remains open, but no economic assumptions can yet be made for the new mineralization.

A new zone has emerged beneath active development

AMEX Gold Mining announced a new mineralized area at its Perron Project in Quebec, naming it the Rosé Zone. The company places the start of the new zone approximately 165 metres below the underground ramp development now being advanced for the bulk-sample program and a planned future mine.

Among the reported Rosé Zone intervals are 8.02 g/t gold over 4.30 metres, including 23.93 g/t over 1.15 metres, and 11.78 g/t gold over 1.80 metres, including 30.86 g/t over 0.65 metres. Another hole returned 10.94 g/t gold over 1.20 metres, including 21.22 g/t over 0.55 metres.

Proximity to the ramp changes the exploration context

The Rosé Zone is notable not only for grade but for where it sits relative to infrastructure already under construction. Amex completed its Perron portal and began underground ramp development in early September. The current development is designed to reach roughly 235 metres vertical depth and support access to the Champagne Zone and a planned 40,000-tonne bulk sample.

Amex says the location could eventually allow exploration drilling from underground and could limit additional development needed to reach the zone in a future mine plan. The company also cautions that no economic assumptions can be made about the new mineralization until it is incorporated into updated resource and economic work.

Early dimensions leave room for geological follow-up

Cornerstone analysis

The company currently traces the Rosé Zone over roughly 275 metres of vertical extent and 70 metres of strike, with mineralization open in multiple directions. One of the deeper holes cited by Amex contains visible gold at about 410 metres depth, while management says further drilling and modelling are planned to test the structural interpretation.

At this stage, the key analytical issue is continuity. High-grade narrow-vein systems can produce strong individual intersections, but resource significance depends on how consistently mineralization can be connected across strike, depth and thickness. Additional drilling should clarify whether Rosé develops into a meaningful resource domain or remains a smaller satellite zone.

Perron is now advancing on two tracks

Cornerstone analysis

Perron is simultaneously moving underground development forward and continuing exploration around the broader deposit system. That combination can be important because underground access creates a new platform for bulk sampling, geological observation and potentially more efficient future drilling once development reaches suitable positions.

The next useful evidence will include step-out drilling at Rosé, updated geological modelling and any future resource work that quantifies the zone rather than describing it only through individual holes. For now, the discovery adds another target close to planned infrastructure while preserving the technical caution that the new mineralization has not yet been assigned economic value.
