A company being built around a broader mineral system

Collective Mining’s flagship Guayabales project in Caldas, Colombia, is anchored by the Apollo gold-silver-copper-tungsten system. The project sits within an established mining region, and the company is pursuing both extensions of known mineralization and additional targets around it.

The business is at the exploration and project-development stage. Its progress is therefore best described through the quality and reach of geological information, processing studies and the preparation of future technical estimates. Collective’s recent updates provide material across each of those areas.

The constructive company story is how those workstreams connect. Exploration defines where mineralization may extend, metallurgical testing examines how metals can be recovered, and resource work organizes the information into a more formal project framework. Advancing them together can make each new result more useful to the broader development effort.

Apollo drilling is adding information beyond the existing model

Collective’s September 1 update reported a significant northern extension to the Apollo breccia, including 38.00 metres grading 15.46 g/t gold equivalent within 141.40 metres grading 4.88 g/t gold equivalent. The company also described infill drilling intended to test gaps in its internal model.

The intervals are downhole lengths; the release estimated true widths at 60–100% of reported length. Gold-equivalent grades combine several metals using disclosed price and recovery assumptions, so they are different from a gold-only assay. Those details help keep the reported result technically meaningful.

The positive development is the relationship between expansion and refinement. Step-out results can identify additional mineralized volume, while infill work improves understanding within an existing interpretation. Both contribute to the information base from which the company can prepare resource estimates and evaluate future development options.

Metallurgy is building the processing picture

The August 25 metallurgical release described testing of a master composite representing approximately the upper 1,000 metres of Apollo. Locked-cycle testing returned recoveries of 95% for gold, 92% for silver and 85% for copper. The program used conventional gravity concentration, flotation and cyanidation methods.

The company said the testing drew on more than 130 individual core samples across 36 intervals, with work conducted by ALS in Kamloops. It also reported a strong gravity response for some gold samples. These are test results used to inform processing design, rather than recoveries already achieved by a commercial mine.

From a company-development perspective, the work adds another dimension to the drilling story. Metal content becomes more useful when accompanied by an understanding of recovery behavior. The disclosed testing provides a technical basis for further variability work and flowsheet development.

Orion and Victory broaden the exploration agenda

On September 3, Collective said fieldwork had advanced Orion to drill-ready status. The target lies approximately one kilometre east of Apollo, where mapping outlined an exposed mineralized footprint of roughly 350 by 300 metres. Drilling was scheduled to begin during the week of that release.

The company also reinterpreted earlier work at Victory and planned further drilling for the fourth quarter of 2026. It reported 13 rigs on site across the wider program. These targets provide additional places to test geological ideas alongside work on the flagship system.

The opportunity is broader exploration coverage within the same project area. Surface observations and geophysical interpretations guide drilling, with the drilling supplying the next evidence. Cornerstone’s assessment is that disciplined target generation makes the wider property more relevant to the company story than a focus on a single headline interval.

The current leadership blends exploration and development experience

Ari Sussman is executive chairman, and Ned Jalil is chief executive officer. Jalil’s published experience includes senior roles at Kinross Gold and Appian Capital. Omar Ossma serves as president, Paul Begin as chief financial officer and Russell Evans as executive vice president for exploration.

The team also includes Raphael Maracajá as vice president for technical services and Rodolfo Higuera as vice president for sustainability. Sussman, Ossma and Begin bring experience associated with Continental Gold, while other appointments add technical and project-execution backgrounds.

This combination is relevant to Collective’s present work. A growing exploration project needs geological leadership, financial planning, engineering input and local engagement. The current roster assigns responsibility across those areas, giving readers a clearer picture of who is involved as Guayabales moves through its next technical steps.

The work is progressing on several timelines

Collective’s published news record shows more than assay announcements. Alongside the September drilling updates and August metallurgical results, it identified work toward an exploration adit, with construction targeted for Q4 2026 and underground drilling at Trap planned for Q1 2027. These are company schedules and remain future milestones.

The sequence explains how access can support exploration. An underground working position can change the geometry and reach of subsequent drilling, allowing technical teams to evaluate areas from a different location. Engineering, access preparation and drilling therefore serve connected purposes even when reported in separate releases.

The company also stated an intention to publish Apollo’s initial mineral resource estimate in September 2026. That future estimate would organize the drilling evidence into a formal inventory under specified assumptions. Until it is published, it remains a scheduled milestone rather than a completed resource statement.

A more complete picture of progress at Guayabales

Cornerstone’s assessment is that Collective’s recent progress is most interesting at the intersections: drilling and geological interpretation, metal content and recovery work, surface exploration and future underground access. Each activity supplies information useful to another part of the project.

That is the distinction between an isolated exploration result and a developing company profile. The stronger story is an organization building the technical information, leadership capacity and work programs needed to evaluate a larger opportunity. The latest disclosures provide several concrete examples of that process.

The next chapter will be defined by the initial resource estimate, additional target results and the advancement of access and engineering work. Those milestones offer a practical way to follow Guayabales as its geological story becomes more detailed. The positive emphasis here rests on disclosed work completed and clearly identified plans for the next stage.
