  • The latest assays come from the QES depth-extension campaign.
  • Additional drilling will help test continuity beneath the current model.

New assays below the current pit shell

Gold X2 Mining (NYSE American and TSXV: AUXX) reported September 10 assays from the QES zone at its Moss Gold Project in Ontario. Hole MQD-26-474 returned 173.0 metres grading 0.89 g/t gold from 685.0 metres, while MQD-26-465 included 157.75 metres at 0.90 g/t from 707.25 metres. These are reported drilled intervals, not equivalent true widths.

The campaign targets roughly 75–100 metres beneath the current resource pit shell. Twelve of 21 planned holes had been completed, with further assays expected. The purpose is to test depth extensions and improve the information available for possible future resource and pit modelling.

Understanding the significance of a deeper intersection

Cornerstone analysis

Cornerstone’s reading is that the location of an intercept matters alongside its grade and length. Drilling outside an existing model tests whether the model is limited by the available information or by the extent of the mineralized system. A broad intersection can justify further work, but adjacent holes are needed to establish how consistently that mineralization continues.

The distinction between an exploration result and an economic conclusion is essential. Recoveries, mining geometry, dilution, operating costs and other technical assumptions affect whether additional material can ultimately be included in a viable mine plan. The present results add geological evidence; they do not by themselves authorize an expanded mine or establish new reserves.

A new U.S. listing accompanies the exploration work

The assays follow another company milestone: Gold X2 began NYSE American trading on September 8 under AUXX, while retaining the same ticker on the TSX Venture Exchange. Its principal asset is the wholly owned Moss project, with access to the Trans-Canada Highway and nearby hydroelectric power.

The listing announcement described a current combined Moss and East Coldstream gold resource of 2.458 million indicated ounces and 4.209 million inferred ounces. These categories should remain separate: inferred resources have a lower level of geological confidence, and mineral resources are not mineral reserves. The company’s preliminary economic assessment also remains subject to its stated assumptions and limitations.

The next modelling question

Cornerstone analysis

The immediate task is to determine whether the developing pattern holds across the rest of the campaign. Readers can track the spacing of the holes, the continuity of the interpreted structures and whether additional assays support the same geological picture. That sequence provides more context than considering a headline interval alone.

A U.S. listing can broaden access to a company’s shares, while drilling can improve understanding of the asset. Those are separate forms of progress. The stronger longer-term story would connect a larger body of verified drill information with an updated technical assessment that explains precisely what changed, which material qualifies for inclusion and why.
