The development

Standard Uranium’s fall program at Corvo is designed to answer a more focused question than the first drilling campaign: which surface structures and geochemical signals deserve the next drill test?

In an October 6 release, the company said crews mobilized to the eastern Athabasca Basin project on October 1 for geological mapping, prospecting and surface sampling. Aventis Energy is funding the work under an option agreement while Standard Uranium operates the program.

The immediate basis for that work is the winter 2026 drilling program, which intersected anomalous uranium in all nine completed holes. The company reported 55 metres of weakly anomalous uranium above its 10-parts-per-million partial-digestion threshold, including shorter intervals at higher thresholds.

Anomalous geochemistry is not the same as a high-grade economic uranium intersection. Its practical value at this stage is to identify patterns that may help connect structures, alteration and known surface showings.

Standard plans to use visible rock exposure to connect new mapping and sampling with subsurface drilling information. The team is focusing on areas around the initial targets and along potential extensions of structures identified in earlier exploration.

A project-generator arrangement changes how the work is financed. Rather than funding every Corvo activity entirely from Standard’s own balance sheet, the partner funds the approved exploration program as part of its earn-in pathway.

The next meaningful result will be a better-defined collection of targets rather than an immediate resource declaration. Assays, geological interpretation and the decision to drill again in 2027 should establish whether the new field season improved the exploration model.

Why this matters

The program converts early geochemical signals into a targeted surface investigation while retaining the option of future drilling.

Partner funding separates the financing of Corvo work from Standard’s flagship exploration spending.

Industry and company context

Corvo is an early-stage uranium exploration project, not a defined operating mine.

Its winter campaign returned enriched intervals and structural information, which can guide target generation but cannot establish resource tonnage.

How to evaluate the update

The most useful information will be maps and samples that connect anomalous holes to repeatable geological features.

Success should be judged by better drill targeting, not by descriptive language alone.

Execution and risk considerations

Surface anomalies can fail to continue at depth or in economically relevant widths.

Work scope and next-year drilling will depend on technical interpretation, funding commitments and required access.

What to watch next

  • Results from the fall mapping and sampling campaign.
  • Priority targets selected for potential 2027 drilling.
  • Partner earn-in progress and Davidson River exploration updates.

Cornerstone perspective

The fall work represents the ordinary but important middle step between initial anomalous drilling and a more decisive follow-up program. It has value if it makes the next holes better informed.
